Happy Thanksgiving from SBI

Good afternoon folks. It is Thanksgiving Day and while much of America will be taking in some American Football, I know there are plenty of you who still crave your soccer.

Even on a day like Thanksgiving, there is soccer to be seen and to be discussed. UEFA Cup action kicks off with a number of sexy match-ups. Here are some of today's top matches:

  • AC Milan at Portsmouth

  • Manchester City at Schalke 04

  • Ajax Amsterdam at Hamburg SV

  • Feyenoord Rotterdam at Deportivo La Coruna (Sorry Canadian fans, there will be no DeGuzman reunion. Julian has a hamstring injury and Jonathan has an ankle injury).

It may be a holiday, but there will be some fresh content up today, including my breakdown of the expansion draft as well as the results from the Freddie Ljungberg edition of You Write the Caption, so stay tuned for that.

For now, feel free to discuss the UEFA Cup action, or any other topics on your mind this Thanksgiving day.

Enjoy the action, and the turkey.

According to the LA Galaxy website Landon Donovan is in LA to rest and receive treatment. Why can’t teams ever be honest with their fans? Tell me that Landon isn’t coming back and that we are going to have to pick up some mid-level talent players to replace him. I’m just frustrated.
