  2. I just really hope that this isn’t the WC team…cause honestly we got about 3 or 4 other guys that will really need to be considered after qualifying….if we make the wc

  3. @primoone – wow. What a terrible post.

I stay away from these roster threads now and the arm chair managers, but your post was worthy of comment. (Impressive given the cesspool that these threads degenerate into quickly).

  4. Im starting to believe that Bradley has some issues toward mexican american players, Orozco is way better than Conrad, well Castillo everybody knows hes better than Bornstein and Torres hes the only one there, I just dont get BB. We are losing great players because of his attitude and thats frustrating

(SBI-Just out of curiosity, why is it assumed that Orozco is better than Conrad right now? Because he starts in Mexico? Duilio Davino also starts in Mexico. I’m not sure anybody who saw him play in MLS would say the guy is a good defender, and certainly not better than Conrad.)

  5. This isn’t the right time to call up Castillo. With Only 22 players and 2 games to play it means everyone called up has to be ready to see minutes. If suspensions or injuries happen next thing you know that young LB you called up to experience the atmosphere is in the game with WC qualification on the line in his first ever USMNT appearance.

  6. @ Crew fans,

Can Rogers serve a ball? I want honesty here. I’ve only seen him a couple of times and his service was awful. Don’t want to base my thoughts on a few games though.

You are a fool my friend, there is no bigger passionate US fan in here than me (of course that can be argued, just a form of expression…yes I have to explain since guys like ETJ take everything to heart). I love the US, all I’m saying is for some of you to get a clue when you ask for Cunningham, Cooper, Ching or Casey to be in the US rooster for a WC Qualifier. If we are going to be a serious contender we need to not call guys like this into our team. We have young talented players. There is nothing with having young 19 year olds on your Senior team, they don’t have to start but to bring in old stiffs (Cooper is not old, but still a stiff) just regresses our Team. It makes other players play harder (by that I mean struggle). I said about FSC and ESPN Deportes so you can all not just watch MLS and watch real talent and what a big time player should be. I did not say everyone in here did nto have a clue, many of you know about Soccer, but some guys just being happy because of what Casey is doing in the MLS is patethic. Take it easy man, get Anger Management or something.

  9. Yikes. I’ve been reading this blog for two years, and the lack of understanding of how these rosters are determined is staggering.

Brian Ching = Target forward, known quantity

Conor Casey = Brian Ching clone/insurance, on the roster only in case Ching gets hurt

Kenny Cooper =/= Target forward. He’s a 6-3 Robinho wanna-be. He’s skilled, but he doesn’t really have a position with this team. He’s Jozy insurance.

Jeff Cunningham? Really? He’s fast, yes, but he’s not faster or better than Davies, so what’s the point? Jozy can be the “runner”, as can Donovan, if Davies gets a knock. So he’s scored a lot of goals? Why is that such a big reason for including him, but not for Casey? And he’s a HEAD CASE.

Jonathan Bornstein = Known quantity at LB. You can game plan for his positives and negatives. Are you really advocating throwing someone who NO ONE has ever played with into a WC Qualifier? Where you really need points? On the road? Great plan. It’s not like Castillo is Maicon, Jr. or something. Yeesh.

Also, I thought everyone had determined that Bob Bradley hated Torres and Cooper? What happened to THAT conspiracy theory?

  10. Doesn’t Castillo even deserve a chance to train with the squad? What does he have to “prove”? Is his club performance not good enough?

  11. I just don’t think Robbie Rogers has what it takes yet…He plays so slowly, can’t beat skillful defenders one-on-one, and is constantly looking for the foul (which he never gets because his diving is horrendously obvious).

  12. The evil you don’t know (Castillo) is not always better than the evil you do know. He hasn’t proven anything and the overwhelming calls for his inclusion are based on hopes and not performance. I’m glad he’s not called up yet. He hasn’t done ANYTHING to earn it.
