Must-See Ad: FIFA12

This FIFA12 ad was made for European viewers, seeing as how the release date mentioned is Sept. 30 (the UK's release date of the game) and not Sept. 27 (North America's release date). But it is still one of the first TV ads released by EA Sports for its highly-anticipated video game, and with the demo scheduled to come out on Sept. 13, this is a must-see for any soccer gamer.

Here's the ad:

What do you think of the ad? Planning on getting FIFA12? Would you be interested in an SBI FIFA12 League?

  1. Brett says:

I like how it showed absolutely no gameplay features. The best commercial they could do for this game would be to just show people playing it.

  2. Zac says:

Already ordered. I’d like to be in an SBI FIFA 12 league.

  3. i want the demo now says:

least they could release the demo now

  4. jcl says:

    +1 on both counts!!!

  5. J-man 1221 says:

    Awesome 😀

  6. OmarVizquel says:

The image of a motionless fan being stretchered off a football pitch should be an uncomfortable image to anyone who followed English soccer in the 1980s. So I think it was an odd idea for a video game commercial.

  7. jason says:

    XBox 360 league too?

  8. Boris says:

  9. Michael says:

    Yes please :)

  10. Steve C says:

How old is that guy who does the “EA Sports.. its in the game.” voice?? He’s been around for ages.

  11. Czo13 says:

I vote for PES 2012. As a fan of both games “gasp” I know. I am sticking with pes 2012 this year

  12. A wise man once says:

    Why? I don’t remember what happened 😛

  13. HoboMike says:

I’d be in on an Xbox 360 league. Ives, is this a PS3 only invite?

  14. A-Lott says:

    In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby!

  15. Julio says:

Count me in, I have an Xbox.

  16. c(note) says:

I have a PS3 and I am in for an SBI league

  17. J says:

    Yes!!! to that last question

  18. ManicMessiah says:

I’d definitely be in on an xbox league.

  19. RChrisW says:

I would love to get in a league (XBOX). I play manager mode mostly because every time I look for an online match everybody picks Barcelona, seriously about 19 out of 20 attempts the opponent picks them…very lame.

  20. Colin says:

I would do a xbox league

  21. sef-one says:

    agreed! or Real Madrid. WTF!

  22. adub4ever says:

Colin Cowherd said today on his radio show that he heard from ESPN’s brass that the demographics show Soccer becoming the 4th most popular sport ahead of Baseball in 10 years. 44% hispanic in the USA. and he adds that the internet sites like bigsoccer or sbi and Fifa11 are whats making it happen. Fifa 11 is the fastest selling game of all time in the USA. FIFA 12 will be bigger

  23. Danny says:

    I love Colin!

“dude is totally freaking me out…”

  24. Dan Ericson says:

Sounds like a great idea. Xbox 360 league here.

  25. Brian says:

I have a PS3 and would DEFINITELY do a SBI FIFA 12 League

  26. three11stu says:

Couldn’t somebody here create a league that people could join, sort of an unofficial SBI league?

  27. Rudy says:

Already pre-ordered! Yes to the last question, on PS3 tho

  28. Jason B says:

Yeah, demographic changes and just my general sense of what sports young people are into these days would lead me to believe that baseball is in serious decline and that in 10 or 15 years the top 3 will be 1)Football 2)Basketball 3)Soccer

  29. Jake says:

I hate playing online because everyone plays on auto. If we could force people to play manual I would enjoy it more. Playing on manual actually takes skill as opposed to auto.

  30. nic d the "tx 2 stepper" says:

Pre-Ordered. Madden Tonight. FIFA Next Month.

Gaming set til next Year! WOoooooooooooOT

  31. HoboMike says:

You’ll have jabonis picking Man City a lot in 2012, as well.

  32. HoboMike says:

    You can always specify auto-only….

  33. soccerhorn says:

Sorry, but Colin Cowherd is an idiot. The number of times I’ve heard that guy contradict himself. This morning he may be talking about how soccer is taking over, but tomorrow morning he’ll be talking about how “nobody watches that terrible sport.”

The greater point is – while espn has begrudgingly started airing soccer, and network will be picking up on it starting next year, the sad fact remains that almost all sports radio guys are completely clueless about soccer and imagine that the mere mention of the sport is the death knell for their drive-time “NBA and NFL only” programs.

  34. Dan says:

I’m in for both but on Xbox360

  35. John F says:

Not a gamer here, but that was a really dumb ad. I agree about the uncomfortable image, being a former Brit, and what was the deal with the sparkles coming off Rooney’s fingers? Shouldn’t they be coming off his foot?

  36. Matt says:

    I found that interesting too.

  37. Lu says:

sbi fifa league is a great idea. xbox 360 users too, right?
