The Philadelphia Union and D.C. United resume their I-95 rivalry tonight with much more than bragging rights on the line.

The two Eastern Conference rivals clash tonight (8pm, ESPN2) with playoff dreams on the line, as the Union still have visions of first place in the East while D.C. is simply trying to climb into playoff position.

The Union will try to stop red-hot D.C. playmaker Dwayne DeRosario, who comes into the match leading MLS in goals, and coming off a stellar three-goal, one-assist performance in beating Real Salt Lake. Philadelphia comes in off a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Sporting Kansas City.

Neither team will be wanting to settle for a point tonight as both sides are looking for three points to secure some breathing room in the air-tight Eastern Conference standings.

SBI will be providing live commentary from PPL Park tonight so please feel free to follow along here. As always, you are welcome to share your own thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

Le Toux with what may have been the greatest celebration since the team in iceland.

  2. gene_sf says:

I am shocked that there have not yet been questions about whether LeToux has been capped by France (he hasn’t, according to Wikipedia).

  3. gene_sf says:

    I forgot to add a :)

  4. liz says:

And Perry Kitchen screaming “F*CK” right as the camera cuts to him. Luckily for the kiddos at home, there was no sound. But it doesnt take a genius to realize he wasn’t alerting us to a duck on the pitch

    Is Adu injured?

  6. Jim in Atlanta says:

    nope on bench…

  7. Ben Olsen says:

Da Luz to DeRosario! Goal, United! Thanks, Frank Soler!

  8. Ben Olsen says:

    Guh, Erik, I mean.

  9. jpc says:

Too bad DeRosario was terrible for NY, b/c he’s been in MVP type form for DC… Typical Metrostars

  10. abc says:

Not even Erik Rost could have stopped that shot! 😉

  11. ericJ says:

Um… how stupid did the Phili Defense look on that Najar run…?

  13. America says:

Michael Farfan is so skilled with the ball at his feet. He can take men off the dribble, has a great shot, and can hit good crosses. Future national team winger potentially.

  14. TomG says:

Adu must be the world’s worst practice player because every time I see him on the field, he does a lot of positive things. What is he doing in practice that keeps him out of the starting lineup?

  15. TomG says:

    great first touch by Farfan

  16. Joel says:

I believe his celebration was taken from that cellphone commercial–don’t remember the company–where a group is staging a flash mob dance at a station and one of the dancers starts to do the routine only to realize that it’s been delayed a few minutes.

Anyone know what I’m taking about?

    Seba’s Celebration

  18. wilyboy says:

Just got home. What the hell. DC, can’t you just give yourselves a chance.

  19. Khan says:

He has an ankle knock and Nowak has a hard-on for Roger Torres. All in all a bad combination.

  20. pd says:

That’s what happens when a keeper doesn’t holler step at his players…

  21. liz says:

Yup, I love that commercial, and that’s why i loved the celebration
