D.C. United held on for a crucial 1-1 draw against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, and no player was as key to D.C. securing the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs than goalkeeper Bill Hamid.
The young netminder made eight saves, several of which were of the highlight reel variety, to keep the Fire from scoring a winner and relegating D.C. United to a wild card playoff match. His performance made him the clear-cut choice for SBI MLS Player of the Week.
Hamid beat out a list of candidates that included Federico Higuain, Kei Kamara, David Ferreira and Laurent Courtois.
What did you think of Hamid’s performance? Which MLS player impressed you the most last week?
