For all the veterans in the Los Angeles Galaxy’s lineup, it’s been a rookie defender who has stood out amongst the rest this week.
The former Michigan Wolverine Kofi Opare scored his team’s lone goal in their mid-week 1-0 victory over the Montreal Impact and helped earn a second consecutive clean sheet against the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday evening. Opare’s performances this week made him our choice for SBI MLS Rookie of the Week.
Opare beat out Kekuta Manneh, Wil Trapp, and Deshorn Brown for this week’s honors.
What did you think of Opare’s performance? Which rookie stood out for you in MLS Week 35?
