Fabio Coentrao today showed he is definitely one of the top 3 leftbacks in the world

ha-ha. Give it up, Maykol. FC Bayern’s David Alaba is better even if Alaba plays midfield for the Austrian National team.

Wait — they have the upper hand after the first leg? That’s crazy talk.

Can anyone even remember the last time Greece scored 3 goals in a qualifier or major tournament?

I think they scored 3 goals at Euro 2004.

I hate when anyone uses anything along the lines of “double” to describe the away goal rule. It’s pretty misleading to anyone not familiar with the rule.

I would have preferred something like, “any goal nicked on Croatian soil in the second leg will force the home team to outscore their opponents.”

    That’s my rant about semantics.

Ha bugs me too. Makes it sound like iceland could lose 2-3 and still go through.
