With the field cut down to 32 teams, the 16 seeded squads all return to action on Sunday as they begin their paths to the College Cup.

Each school knows that there will be a new champion this year as last year’s national title winner, Indiana, were knocked out last Wednesday by Akron, who moved on to face Marquette. Elsewhere around the country, California host Bradley, UCLA host North Carolina-based Elon, and Notre Dame face a Wisconsin team that is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995.

Other matches to keep an eye on today are Maryland vs. Providence, Seattle vs. Washington, and Stanford vs. CSU-Northridge. Seattle defeated another College Cup participant on Wednesday in an overtime victory against Creighton. Georgetown and Maryland are now the last two teams remaining from last year’s Final Four teams.

In ten years, all of these matches will be on ESPNFC, a new channel, representing the soaring interest in all things of the real football.

Got PAC 12 Network. Will watch my Bruins win after I watch The Timbers lose.

    • Marcroi says:

Big Ten Network is replaying American football games from yesterday. Notre Dame vs Wisconsin doesn’t rate a spot in the lineup.

      • drew11 says:

These NCAA games should be on ESPN3 or another national platform. Making them filler programming for the league networks that nobody watches and/or doesn’t have access to is a mistake.

    • Fredo says:

Oops, UCLA Basketball on. Twitter feed looks really good, though. I expect more games on TV as tournament progresses.

Small an upset…Anteaters over North Carolina

Go Bears! Berkeley alumni need something to root for…
