After starting their first four games of the season on the road, Oklahoma City Energy FC kick off their home season at Pribil Stadium, hosting the 2013 USL Pro champions Orlando City SC on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The Energy currently sit in fifth place in the standings, after suffering their second defeat against FC Dallas’ reserves during Week 4. Forward Kyle Grieg currently leads the team in scoring with two goals.
Orlando City currently sit in first place, and look to bring momentum to OKC after a 3-2 victory at FC Dallas earlier in the week, which saw midfielder Kevin Molino bag a brace for the Lions in the process.
Both sides will meet again the following week when the Energy visit the Lions at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Here’s a closer look at the rest of Week 6 in USL Pro:
ARIZONA UNITED VS. LA GALAXY II (Friday at 10:00 p.m. ET WATCH HERE)
After earning their first victory last week, Arizona United SC look to build from that but have a tough task in hand when the LA Galaxy II visit the Peoria Sports Complex.
Los Dos posted another huge victory last week after defeating the Orange County Blues, 3-1. Meanwhile, Arizona United defeated Sacramento Republic, 2-1, the previous week after being down a goal early in the first half.
The weekend will also feature double duty work for the Galaxy, as they will only have one day to rest before visiting the Blues for the second consecutive week on Sunday.
WILMINGTON HAMMERHEADS VS. CHARLOTTE EAGLES (Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET WATCH HERE)
The Wilmington Hammerheads will look for their first home win of the season when the Charlotte Eagles visit Legion Stadium.
The Hammerheads, who had a bye week during Week 5, try to take advantage of a fatigued Eagles side on Saturday. Charlotte is scheduled to play on Friday, when they host the Chicago Fire reserves at the campus of UNC Charlotte.
PITTSBURGH RIVERHOUNDS VS. CHARLESTON BATTERY (Saturday at 6:00 p.m. ET WATCH HERE)
The Pittsburgh Riverhounds look to erase their disappointing home-opening defeat, as they’ll also search for their first victory of the season when they welcome the Charleston Battery to Highmark Stadium.
With both sides desperately hoping for their first win, the Riverhounds will welcome back forward Collins John, who received a red card in his last match. The Battery will more than likely gamble with their starting lineup since they take on the Rochester Rhinos on Sunday at Sahlen’s Stadium.
DAYTON DUTCH LIONS VS. RICHMOND KICKERS (Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET WATCH HERE)
The red-hot Dayton Dutch Lions enter the week as the hottest team in USL Pro, and will look to extend their three-game unbeaten streak when they host the Richmond Kickers.
Dutch Lions forward Aaron Schoenfeld was named to the Week 5 USL Pro team of the week after his game-winning rocket against the Harrisburg City Islanders clinched a 1-0 victory for his side. The Kickers, however, haven’t had luck on the road this season, going winless in their last two road games.
What do you think of Week 6? Which teams do you expect to win? Do you think fatigue will play a factor with all the schedule congestion? Who do you think will finish in first place?
